New Orleans Saints are pretty much screwed for at least 1 year, but let's not get this situation twisted into some type of "anti-violence" campaign by Roger Goodell. That wasn't the message the NFL commissioner was trying to send by bringing the hammer down on the Saints organization.

Roger Goodell and the NFL knew that the Saints had bounties and asked them to stop. New Orleans didn’t stop, and that’s the reason for the following penalties.

- Head coach Sean Payton suspended for 1-year (Payton just said he’s “stunned”)

- GM Mickey Loomis suspended 8 games and fined $500,000

This afternoon, on College Football Live on ESPN, former NC State QB Russell Wilson will come on and potentially make his decision on where he is going to play this season.

Wilson was drafted by the Colorado Rockies last summer and he was let out of his scholarship by NC State. Though he is currently playing baseball in the minors for Class A Asheville (N.C.), Wilson has one more year of eligibility in the NCAA.

Today, he is supposed to make his decision between football and baseball as he promised weeks ago that he would make a decision before July 1.

It would seem that Wilson is choosing to play one more year of football. It would also seem that Wilson is going to play at Wisconsin or Auburn.

I know, two blog postings in one day, are you starting to gauge my massive boredom when there's nothing other than June baseball going on?

I'm driving just a little bit ago and I hear on the radio that the University of Kansas has released the following statement:

"Kansas Head Coach Bill Self will be available to speak with the media after Josh Selby has been selected in the NBA Draft. In the event that Josh Selby is not selected, coach Self will be available to speak with the media after the NBA Draft has concluded."

Bill Self must really hate what Josh Selby did to his team last year. Josh Selby was supposed to be the reason that KU won the National Championship in 2011. In October of 2010, I had Gary Parrish on my radio show on 90.7fm KJHK in Lawrence, KS. Parrish said that Selby was the difference, he compared him to John Wall, Tyreke Evans, etc... EVERYBODY was sold on Josh Selby. If Josh had played up to 70% of the hype, then KU would most likely be the National Champion. That would be frustrating to anyone, so I understand.

I just logged onto CBS Sports to check out the news for the day and I see a poll asking people who will be the biggest bust in this years NBA draft. The answers are the following:

Jimmer Ferdette

Bismack Biyombo Kemba Walker

Josh Selby

CBS thinks Selby will be a bust. He already is.

As I sit here, I am fully aware that the NFL lockout is the most annoying thing on the planet, trust me, I get it. The crazy thing, I cannot stop watching the NFL Network. I just watched a replay of some random week in November and it was one of the coolest things that I have done all week. While ESPN keeps talking about the potential top 10 draft picks to the point of nausea and Brandon Marshall is getting stabbed in yet another domestic dispute, the NFL Network is reminding all of us that there still is a game that this is all about.

I understand that the pandamonium around the NFL has more mass appeal than the down in the dirt, gritty as hell, absolute fight that I love, but please NFL, remind your real fans why we put up with all of your nonsense. The NFL Network just did that for me. In a world full of media clutter that is all about the things going on off of the field, the NFL Network is showing us that there is still something a little bit pure left in this game. One you cut through all of the B.S. that we in the media love to cover, you remember why you fell in love with this game in the first place.

Watching the KU @ Neb game today, I coud not help but think about the play of Markieff Morris. He is averaging over 12 ppg and leads the Big 12 in rebounds. Kieff had 17 points today. I think as fans we always get caught up in the moment and worry about what is next instead of looking back to the original expectations and enjoying the ride (I'm looking at you KC Chiefs fans).

Before this season began Markieff was not supposed to be a "star" on this Kansas team. Everybody in Lawrence knew what they had in Marcus Morris because he broke out last season, but Markieff has greatly outshined his expectations. During this past off-season, Marcus was invited to the LeBron James camp, Markieff was not. That was the first time in the twin's lives that they had been separated from each other. While I'm sure that it was tough for the both of them, I'm also sure it was much more difficult for Kieff. Few things cause more motivation than sibling rivalry, and with Cole Aldrich leaving after the 09-10 season for the NBA, Markieff was going to get his opportunity.

Markieff Morris is LEGIT
